Descartes Discourse on the Method was a lot easier to read than Bacon's New Organon, but I believe there are some contradicting points in Discourse on the Method. In part 1, Descartes explains how every man is made with good sense and that its "naturally equal in all men"(descartes 2). In the next paragraph, he extends his argument saying "I have never presumed my mind to be in any way better than the minds of people in general." (descartes 2) In the following paragraph, he contradicts his argument, that every is equal with good sense, and states "But I don't hesitate to report my opinion, that in one respect I am above the common run of people." (descartes 2). Other than this confusion, I enjoyed descartes take on philosophy. Instead of writing to get people to believe his thoughts, Descartes wrote to get his ideas out, but doesn't mind if the reader did not believe him or in his ideas.
